Scope and ContentKing’s decree to be executed by Michel-Ange Duquesne, Marquis of Menneville (1700-1778), governor general of New France, and François Bigot (1703-1778), intendant of New France, authorizing the Augustinian nuns of the Hôtel-Dieu in Quebec City to dispose of their seigneury on Isle-aux-Oies in order to acquire, under the prescribed terms, a plot of land measuring seven arpents on the river by ten arpents deep then being offered for sale by the estate of Michel Bégon de La Picardière (1667-1747), considered to better meet their needs. It appears that the community never acquired the land in question, since it was sold for 33,000 pounds.
