Scope and ContentLouis XV urges the governor of New France to appoint Philippe de Sacquespée (1728-?) as a second ensign on April 1, 1751. He is to take the place of Mr. Godefroy, promoted to ensign on the active list. Sacquespée, who came from a family of which several members had served in the colonial regular troops, was made a lieutenant on the active list in 1752.

Signatures and inscriptions: signed “Louis” and countersigned “Rouille.”



Physical condition: there is a hole at the place of the missing wax seal.



General notes: the document was registered at the Bureau de contrôle de la marine de la Nouvelle-France in Quebec City on September 22, 1751. Infantry company: Compagnie franche de la Marine.
