Scope and ContentLetter from the Duke of Lévis to the Duke of Aiguillon presenting a list of his officers eligible for promotion under the order of July 13, 1771. The Duke of Lévis led one of the two companies forming the bodyguards of Monsieur, Count of Provence (1755-1824). The title of “Monsieur” was given to the eldest of the king of France’s younger brothers.
