Scope and ContentAugustin Labadie est nommé directeur de scrutin pour l'Assemblée du Bas-Canada par le lieutenant-général George Prevost (1767-1816). Avec l’imminence de la guerre contre les États-Unis (1812-1815), Prevost cherche à obtenir le soutien des Canadiens du Bas-Canada. Pour ce faire, il procède à la nomination de plusieurs Canadiens au Conseil législatif et écarte les moins loyaux des politiciens pour favoriser des plus modérés. La nomination de Labadie n'est sûrement pas étrangère aux politiques de PrEvost.

Collation: Grand parchemin imprimé avec ajouts manuscrits auquel est attaché un grand sceau d'un diamètre de 11 cm. Dimensions : 39,9 cm de largeur x 33,9 cm de hauteur x 0,1 cm d'épaisseur; Sceau: Dimesions: 11,3 cm de diamètre x 1,5 cm d'épaisseur.
