Scope and ContentAppointment of Beverley Robinson (1721-1792) to the rank of lieutenant-colonel in the Loyal American Regiment of the British army, whose mission was to fight the rebels during the American War of Independence (1775-1783). The appointment was granted by the general and commander-in-chief of the British forces in North America, Henry Clinton (1738-1795).
