Scope and ContentNé à Québec, Jeffery Hale (1803-1864), ancien officier de la marine britannique, remplace son père au poste de receveur général de la province du Bas-Canada en 1838. Il sera aussi un philanthrope important pour la communauté anglicane de la ville de Québec.
