Scope and ContentLetter from the king of France, Francis I (1494-1547), instructing the receiver general of finances, Jean Laquette, to pay Thomas de Lavernot, quartermaster in the service of the Duke of Orléans, the king’s son, the cash sum of 20 gold crowns for services rendered. The money is to be taken from the revenue from the sale of the newly-created position of serjeant-at-law for Mauges, in the seneschalty of Anjou.It is signed by Bayard in the name of King Francis, who also signed.
