Scope and ContentAppointment certified by the royal notaries of Saint-Jean d’Angely of Louis-Philippe de Rigaud, Marquis of Vaudreuil (1724-1802), rear admiral and commander of the Marine in Rochefort, to the position of general and special attorney. This appointment allowed him to participate in the general assembly of the three states of the seneschalty of Saintonge, in the city of Saintes, aimed at electing representatives to be sent to the Estates General. These Estates General had been ordered by the king in a letter sent January 24, 1789. NotesSource of title: based on the nature of the document.
Signatures and inscriptions: signed by Lemoyne de Sevigny and sealed by Varangue and Bergier, royal notaries; stamped de La Rochelle.
