Scope and ContentCopy of a list of men in the company of Major John Hill who have been issued with bayonets. The 36 signatories acknowledge that Major Hill has supplied them each with a bayonet and scabbard. Dated May 24, 1759, the copy was certified by Daniel Libbey, clerk of the infantry company stationed in the town of Berwick, although the company is not identified. The document dates from the period of the Seven Years’ War (1754-1763).NotesSource of title: based on the nature of the document.
