Scope and ContentFollowing submission of his letter of resignation, dated April 1, 1864, Francis Crispo asks Colonel Dyde to recommend that if possible he be allowed to retain his rank of captain. In support of his request, he notes his years of service in the British American Rifles, who were mobilized during the insurrections of 1837-1838, and subsequently in the Queen’s Mounted Rangers and the Stanstead Frontier Cavalry. He also mentions his responsibilities as a member of the 6th Battalion Volunteer Militia Rifles, renamed the Hochelaga Light Infantry in 1863.NotesSource of title: Based on the nature of the document.
