Scope and ContentLetter from the citizen Le Brigant to the minister of war, Barthélemy Louis Joseph Schérer (1747-1804), requesting the liberation of his only surviving son, to support him, as he says, in his old age. A friend, La Tour d’Auvergne, volunteered to replace the son, but at the cost of his life.
