Scope and ContentNomination de Janvier-Domptail Lacroix (1778-1856) au grade d'enseigne des milices de la ville et de la banlieue de Montréal par le lieutenant-gouverneur du Bas-Canada Robert Shores Milnes (1754-1837).

Avocat de formation, Lacroix est également seigneur et politicien. Souvent accordée à un notable du village, la commission d'officier de milice était une charge prestigieuse à laquelle étaient rattachées des responsabilités civiles et militaires importantes.
