Scope and ContentNomination d'Aaron Philip Hart comme enseigne dans le 2e bataillon de milice de Montréal en 1831.

Aaron Philip Hart est l’un des fils de Benjamin Hart (1779-1855), homme d'affaires et frère d'Aaron Ezekiel Hart (1803-1857), avocat de Trois-Rivières. Le clan Hart, de confession juive, appuie le Parti patriote durant les luttes et les revendications politiques des années 1830 puisque ce parti adoptera la loi qui confirme aux Juifs du Bas-Canada l'égalité des droits. Se rangeant du côté du gouvernement lors des rébellions, Aaron Philip Hart aidera néanmoins certains accusés patriotes et plaidera la clémence durant leurs procès pour trahison après le soulèvement.
