Scope and ContentGabriel Christie (1722-1799) and Hazen Moses (1733-1803) both fought for the British in North America during the Seven Years’ War (1754-1763). The former was an officer in the 48th Regiment of Foot, while the latter was a member of Rogers’ Rangers, raised by Robert Rogers. After the war, Christie and Moses jointly acquired the seigneuries of Sabrevois and Fleury, on the east shore of the Richelieu River. While Christie provided most of the funds required to purchase the estates, it was Moses who worked to develop them and make them profitable. In 1770, as a result of the chronic problems the two men faced in the administration of their seigneuries, Christie requested the separation of their property. This document lists the consumer goods to be divided. NotesSource of title: based on the title of the document.
