Scope and ContentCertificate in which La Rochefoucauld asks the Marquis of La Salle, lieutenant- general of the king’s armies and commander-in-chief of the Normandy division, that a pension and military honours be granted to Louis Rigotes, corporal in the infantry regiment of La Sarre, for his loyalty in combat, his years of service and his wounds. After 25 years of service, beginning on April 24, 1752, he was suffering from rheumatism and a pain in the chest caused by a wound received in Canada, which made it impossible for him to continue.

Signatures and inscriptions: signed by the Duke of La Rochefoucauld, Vaublanc and Lord Carbonni, countersigned “le marquis de Lasalle.”



Restoration/Conservation: the document has been restored and mounted on stiff cardboard to preserve the wax seal.
