Scope and ContentJean Casimir Frischmann est l'ambassadeur de France à Bonn entre 1719 et 1721. Les rapports qu'il a faits entre le 17 novembre 1719 et le 7 avril 1721 informent Philippe d'Orléans, alors régent de Louis XV (1715-1723), des négociations en cours entre les grands royaumes d'Europe. Il fait notamment état de la querelle touchant l'électeur de Cologne sur des questions de religion opposant protestants et catholiques. L'évêque de Münster et le conseiller de la Régence d'Hanovre, pour l'Angleterre, s'en mêlent tandis qu'ont lieu des mouvements dans les cours d'Allemagne. On craint une guerre de religion. Le conflit se règle finalement à l'amiable. Pour son effort, l'électeur de Cologne veut être récompensé par le roi de France par des marques de distinction.
