Scrapbook
This scrapbook focusses on Lawrence Sperber's activities as a fashion designer between 1947 and 1953, primarily in Montreal and the United States. It contains clippings from newspapers and magazines, including Vogue, Mayfair, Fashion, Style, The Gazette, The Standard and The Montreal Star. These clippings include numerous images of Sperber's creations, some presenting events in which he was a participant, and others advertising his dresses. The texts generally discuss fashion trends and features of the clothes designed by Sperber. The scrapbook also holds seven photographs as well as a letter from British retailer Percy A. Stafford to Sperber, informing the designer that his products were sold out in one day.

Statements of responsibility: The photographs were taken by Montreal photography studios Arnott & Rogers and Graetz Brothers.
Physical description: 21 pages.
Physical condition: The scrapbook showed signs of mildew when it was acquired. It was taken apart and cleaned.
Arrangement: The scrapbook has been taken apart; each sleeve contains the documents that were previously glued onto one page. The original order was preserved.
Language: The document is in English and French, but primarily in English.
