Scope and ContentThis sub-sub-series relates to military administration in Canada between 1846 and 1864. It focuses in particular on the recruitment and command of Canada’s militia, and on conditions in Montreal’s military prison. It also illustrates the system for acknowledging and rewarding officers through letters of appointment and includes a handwritten version of Pamphile Le May’s poem “Le chant des Voltigeurs Canadiens.”
