Scope and ContentThis sub-sub-series relates to the military management of Great Britain and its North American colonial empire between 1722 and 1867, in particular with regard to laws concerning naval officers and the recruitment of volunteers into the Canadian militia. It also illustrates the system for acknowledging and rewarding officers through receipts, letters of appointment and pension certificates.
