Scope and ContentOn behalf of the battalion’s officers, Captain Francis Crispo explains the reasons for changing the battalion’s name from the Volunteer Militia Rifles to the Hochelaga Light Infantry. The change would be made on June 5, 1863. On the back of the document, Crespo asks his battalion’s major, Murdoch Morison, for permission to put his men through exercises in preparation for the upcoming ball.
