Cookbook
This recipe booklet published by the Canadian Egg Marketing Agency documents an advertising campaign the organization conducted under the slogan "Get Cracking." The authors of the brochure adopt a playful tone to sell eggs as the ideal summer food: "Whatever you do, you'll want to spend as much time as possible outdoors—including mealtimes. Whether you're in your backyard or on the beach, outdoor meals are a part of summer fun and, of course, so are eggs. Eggs even look like sunshine!" Although the authors mention the nutritional value of eggs, they focus more on the fact that they are easy to prepare and to transport. Numerous colour photographs help show off the booklet's summer recipes. There is also a list of general facts and tips about eggs (nutritional value, cooking, storage), instructions for how to prepare them on the barbecue, along with combinations and suggested presentations for creating numerous egg salad variations.
