Scope and Content

This booklet documents the founding and organization of Montreal's first public transit company, which set up a system of horse-drawn trams. It contains a copy of the 1861 law incorporating the Montreal City Passenger Railway Company, the company's by-laws, as well as the Montreal by-law authorizing its creation.
