InscriptionsWritten in pencil below cartoon: Even the picturesque cannibal, tales of whose doings thrilled us in youth, succumbs to the march of civilization. "Long-pig will soon be a thing of the past in cannibal lands, owing to the adoption of modern habits of civilization. Natives with former pronounced cannabilistic tastes now farm, fish, mine, trade and manufacture". Missionary report.
