InscriptionsOn blue paper, glued to inside front cover in typescript: MS Fragments of a Journal dealing with the Quebec Expedition, 1759. Believed to be in the handwriting of General Wolfe. [An "x" in pencil] It was found by my father among some old books and rubbish at Tetbury, Glos. many years ago. In pencil below: "x" Of this, there is no doubt. D.R.McC. Newspaper article glued to inside flyleaf. In pencil: Jany 2 1914. Came into my possession Feby 11 1914. D.R.McC. Bearing the title "A Wolfe Discovery. Interesting Relic", it pertains to the finding of the journal. On blue paper, glued to blank back page in typescript: Several pages in this Book, being loose, fell out or were taken out many years ago. On one of these was a memorandum to the effect that the pages had been destroyed by the Genral purposely shortly before battle. [An "x" in pencil] J.R.B. In pencil below (McCord): (Bowman) In pencil on same page (McCord): "x" I suppose this was made made by V(ill.) (ill.) made a copy "Nineteenth Century" march 1910 - Yes - In pencil on same page (McCord): The last entry in Jonas? Bell's ADC copy was of the 16th Aug.
