Scope and ContentLe fils de l'ancien roi d'Angleterre Jacques II (1633-1701), Jacques-François Édouard Stuart (1688-1766), dit le « Vieux prétendant », remercie son cousin le cardinal Alessandro Albani (1692-1779) des souhaits qu'il lui a envoyés dans une lettre qu'il a reçue durant les fêtes saintes. Il le remercie de son soutien indéfectible. À partir de 1717 et jusqu’à sa mort, Jacques-François vit en Italie, après plusieurs vaines tentatives d’accéder au trône.
