Scope and ContentLetter sent to Thomas Robinson, commander of the schooner Mercury, by Joshua Loring (1716-1781), captain in His Majesty’s Royal Navy and superintendent for the Lakes of North America, acknowledging his excellent service. Loring would hold this position throughout the North American theatre of the Seven Years’ War (1754-1763). He also expresses his wish to see Robinson with General Gage the following summer.NotesSource of title: based on the nature of the document.
