Scope and ContentOn behalf of the battalion’s officers, Major Murdoch Morison asks Lieutenant-Colonel and Assistant Adjutant General Melchior-Alphonse d’Irumberry de Salaberry (1813-1867) for permission to change the name of the 6th Battalion Volunteer Militia Rifles to that of the Hochelaga Light Infantry. The change would be made on June 5, 1863.
