Scope and ContentLetter from Daniel de Rémy de Courcelles (1626-1698), governor of New France, describing the excellent service of a certain La Cour, sergeant in the company of Pierre-André de Froment, captain in the Carignan-Salières regiment. This regiment arrived in Canada in 1665 to fight the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois). In 1668 the regiment was demobilized, and this certificate of good conduct testifies to the soldier’s discharge from the army. NotesSource of title: based on the nature of the document.
