Scope and ContentThis series consists of 37 letters, written in Westmount between 1907 and 1913 by Alexander Henderson to his daughter Mary Robertson (Polly) (about 1862-1949) in Edinburgh. The letters reflect the familial and friendship ties of the Henderson family. Alexander Henderson recalls memories of Scotland and England and also writes about his life in Montreal, Quebec. These personal letters also bear witness to the health and circumstances of Polly and Alexander Henderson.

Immediate source of acquisition : The documents were acquired by the McCord Museum in 1969, offered by the Estate of Prof. Thomas Greenshields Henderson.
