Administrative History

Rolph-Clark-Stone Limited was a Toronto-based lithographic and fine printing company. It was founded in 1849 by Joseph Thomas, Frank Rolph and David Smith under the name Rolph, Smith & Co. In 1904, a merger with T. J. Clark resulted in Rolph & Clark Limited. It was in 1917 that a final amalgamation with William Stone produced Rolph-Clark-Stone Limited.


Scope and Content

The Rolph-Clark-Stone Limited fonds provides information on the founding of the company, its activities and its products. It consists of financial records such as accounts and share books, administrative records such as minutes of board meetings, promotional material about the company's 100th anniversary, samples of the company's work and photographs.

The fonds is divided into the following series:
