Scope and ContentProvisional certificate appointing Mr. d’Oraison, captain in the 6th line infantry, as a knight in the Royal Order of the Legion of Honour. The certificate is signed by Étienne Macdonald, grand chancellor of the Royal Order of the Legion of Honour. Étienne Macdonald, 1st Duke of Taranto (1765-1840), was a lieutenant-general during the French Revolution, marshal of the empire during the First Empire, and duke and peer of France during the Second Restoration.
