Scope and ContentCopy of a genealogical account offering proof of the ancestry of Jacques (James) Ogilvy, Baron of Boyne, then living in France. The document names his ancestors who were related to Scottish royalty. It is a translation by the king’s interpreter of a document in English. The original was intended for the Lord Lyon King of Arms, Grand Officer of State in Scotland, who was responsible for issuing new grants of arms, certifying family trees and confirming claims to existing arms.
