Flintlock musket
Marks or LabelsText : This gun is of BEDR KHAN BEG, Master of the district of Bethan (Kurdistan Turkey). He it was who 50 years ago took up a very strong army against Tyari Tkhoma Diz Baas and Geeleo. He destroyed them and killed many thousand Christians. Mara of Hekeri Neur la la Beg, Who is in Julamark, also was a helper, and the House of Mar Shimum Patriarch fled to Grumiacountry of the Persians. He was about four years there, also Kasha Zadocand Eshi, his son, were killed. Kasha Zadoc was the son-in-law of MarShimum and his gun afterwards reached to the hand of ShamashaBenjamin, the father of the present Mar Shimum. HE gave it to Eseau, the son-in-law of Eli from the House Beckalata of Mar Bhishu. It was then sold to an British Official in 1899.
