InscriptionsEngraved, This Trowel was used by the Reverend Canon Leach D.C.L. IN LAYING THE MONUMENTAL STONE marking the last resting place of some 6000 Immigrants who died of Ship Fever at POINT St. CHARLES, A.D. 1847 & 1848, to many of whom he administered comfort & consolation during their sickness and the rites of Sculpture after Death. MONTREAL December 1st 1859
