The Holiday Season

Arthur George Racey
(1870-1941)
SignatureL.r., A. G. Racey
InscriptionsWritten in pencil on verso: Perhaps, tempted by the beautiful idealistic camping ad pictures, you have chosen tent-camping for your holiday. Never mind if the wind blows your tent down during a thunder storm and you all get soaked and tangled up, never mind if you burn your fingers making coffee, or if ants get in the food, or black flies make your complexions look like a sieve, or the camp stove won't work, or the children fall in the brook, or if the farmer chases you off your camping ground or if you cut your fingers opening cans or if frogs get in the milk, or you lose the corkscrew, you are having a bully holiday and don't know it. Stick it out.
