SignatureL.l., A. G. Racey
InscriptionsWritten in pencil above cartoon: Why not a Royal Fly Swatting Club? The swatter to be the only sporting weapon permitted while hunting the mosca domestica. The deft use of the swatter, the graceful carry through, the proper stance and delicacy of touch to be taught by a competitive professional instructor. Each number to have a Beater who rouses the fly with a handkerchief while the hunter kills it on the wing. Swatting on the ground or trapping to be considered unsportsmanlike. Sportsman would soon be aroused to a sense of what they are missing by neglecting this super sport, and when extinction threatens the fly protection by-laws will be applied for and fly wardens appointed by the government.
