In 1925 the S.S. "Bay Eskimo," carrying supplies for some of the posts in the North, sank in Ungava Bay & lost everything. The Company chartered the "Peveril" and was able to supply all the posts. Except Southampton where she met very heavy ice and was unable to get to the post. We managed to get thro. to the spring with the little grub we had when we sent teams to the mainland for supplies.
